Boris Johnson and Rishi Sunak are unfit to lead this nation of good people – The Yorkshire Post says Yorkshire News

Laws there to protect people from dying prematurely; laws that the great majority complied with correctly; laws which both led Parliament to believe they had also followed.

In a damning moment for the Government, No. 10 confirmed yesterday that the Metropolitan Police had told the country’s two most important statesmen that they would receive notices of fixed sanctions. They enjoyed themselves, while their electorate perished.

Labor leader Sir Keir Starmer said both should resign, while Sir Ed Davey of the Liberal Democrats called for Parliament to be recalled from its Easter recess to hold a no-confidence vote on the Prime Minister.

By convention, ministers who have misled Parliament are expected to resign or face dismissal, but the convention has proven to mean very little to Johnson.

However, for the record, let us be clear about what they said in the House of Commons. When asked if he had attended either of the two Christmas parties approximately a year earlier, Mr. Sunak on December 7, 2021 said: “No, I did not attend any parties.”

Johnson, despite apologizing in January for attending a Downing Street party during the first Covid lockdown, on December 1, 2021, told the House of Commons that “all guidelines were fully followed in the number 10″.

The UK’s coronavirus death toll now stands at more than 170,000 people who have died within 28 days of a positive test.

Mr. Johnson, the first sitting Prime Minister to have broken the law, and Mr. Sunak have disgraced their once great positions of state, while playing the nation for a fool.

Well, enough is enough: they are not fit to lead this nation of good people. Your party, gentlemen, is over.
