Sheffield United: ‘A little worrying’, ‘Hecky did a good job’ – Blades fans react to Bristol City draw UK News

After Friday’s home loss to Reading, the point came courtesy of a 1-1 draw at Bristol City on Monday night after Morgan Gibbs-White’s eye-catching spot-kick canceled out Chris Martin’s opener for City.

United remain sixth ahead of this weekend’s home clash against Cardiff City, and here’s how some of the Blades fans reacted to the point at Ashton Gate…

@Blades_Mad: Two points lost for me. Bristol City was laid back today, we should have put them to bed. A win would have been huge considering the results and would have put our fate firmly in our hands. Lack of urgency towards the end a tad disturbing. Clean pieces, we win

@blade_devon: So many chances to win 5 games, never mind 1. Just have to admit, we’re just not ready to get back to the big time with this bundle. Five teams are now fighting for a place. Should be interesting

@Lanners1: I can’t be bothered debating the pros and cons of Hecky. Slav cost us a lot of points, all season under Hecky and we would easily push the top 2. Yes we go over the line, half the team is/was injured. Playoffs or not Hecky did a good job

@HjssaH: Heckingbottom deserves applause. I know some will disagree, but he walked into a dressing room on his knees. Despite all the injuries, he managed to get us into the top 6 with 3 to play. His hands are tied now, it’s the team’s turn now. MGW wearing it.

Sheffield United’s Will Osula tackles Bristol City’s Alex Scott: Darren Staples/Sportimage

@Justin23Rice: I never like to blame injuries but it’s justified in this game, great performance with just the last bit missing. Another stitch and still with a shout, continue to the end. Bring on Saturday

@Average_Blade: We played better than #BCFC in the first half but they were too good on the counter. And they have real strikers. We looked good and should have won the game, but we have a lot of injuries and that has to be taken into account. I can’t just blame Hecky

@SP00NS: Looks like the end of the 97/98 season. Limping in the playoffs (if we even make it) out of shape and lacking in firepower

@AntSSimo19: Definitely better than Friday, much faster pace and plenty of opportunities. McB would surely have benefited today. At least need 2 kills for OPs now from 3. Still seems unlikely.

@SamCarford: That’s not a good point at all and 1 point from the last 6 against teams we’ve played isn’t good enough

@BladesAnalysis: A point is better than nothing at this stage of the season. On the next.
