Kindling, Brighton in list of affordable Michelin star restaurants Brighton News

New research has revealed Michelin star restaurants to visit that won’t break the bank and there’s a Brighton establishment among them.

As online searches in the UK for ‘Michelin star restaurant’ have increased by 309% over the past 12 months, Parkdean Resorts decided to find the best and most affordable restaurants in the guide.

To calculate the best all-round Michelin restaurants, Parkdean ranked factors such as average price per person, number of Michelin stars, Tripadvisor rating and Instagram followings, to give the restaurant a rating out of 100.

And according to their data, Brighton’s Kindling in East Street is not only one of the best Michelin restaurants overall, it is also in the top five most affordable.

The best Michelin restaurants in the UK

Here are the top 5 Michelin starred restaurants according to calculations by Parkdean Resorts.

BOX-E Bristol

Parkdean’s research found that BOX-E in Bristol offers the best overall Michelin experience. This restaurant scored 77/100 in the index and will set you back around £32 per person. Not only that, but BOX-E is rated 5/5 on TripAdvisor, proving how much customers enjoyed their experience.

Peninsula Restaurant, London

Greenwich in London is home to the Peninsula Restaurant, which according to research by Parkdean is the second best Michelin restaurant in the UK. The Peninsula Restaurant scored 73/100 in the index for its tasty selection of European cuisine, priced at around £32 per person.

Core by Clare Smyth, London

Core by Clare Smyth in London has over 100,000 followers on Instagram, where they post photos of their mouth-watering menu and stunning restaurant decor. This 3-star Michelin restaurant scored 70/100 in the rankings, but beware, it will cost you £134 per person!

Kindling, Brighton

Kindling in Brighton is the fourth best Michelin restaurant in the UK, with a respectable 67/100 in the index. Offering a selection of healthy meals at around £20 per person, Kindling is a must!

Chakana, Birmingham

And finally, Chakana in Birmingham was crowned the fifth best overall Michelin experience, with a score of 65/100 in Parkdean’s research. Priced at around £34 per person and offering a delicious range of Peruvian-style dishes, Chakana is a great Michelin option for those in the West Midlands.

As part of Parkdean’s research, they also discovered which Michelin restaurants offer the best value for money in the UK.

Tharavadu, Leeds

With an average of just £13 per person, this Michelin-quality restaurant lets you experience Indian and Asian cuisine without breaking the bank. Not only that, but Tharavadu has been rated 4.5/5 on TripAdvisor.

Bar Ibérico, Nottingham

Bar Iberico in Nottingham is Michelin’s second best value restaurant, offering a tasty Mediterranean and European menu for an affordable price of just £14 per person.

Iberian tapas of the world, Nottingham

Another restaurant in Nottingham on the list of best value Michelin restaurants is Iberico World Tapas. This exquisite Mediterranean and European menu of mouth-watering lamb rump dishes and savory wild mushrooms will set you back around £17 per person.

Root, Bristol

Root in Bristol describes itself as a “modern, vegetarian and small-plate restaurant” and offers an exquisite selection of contemporary European dishes for a price of around £19 per person.

Kindling, Brighton

Not only is Kindling the fourth best Michelin restaurant, it is also the fifth most affordable. Offering a healthy British menu ranging from grilled oyster mushrooms to braised shoulder of venison, for around £20 per person.
