A CAR has been seized by police after a motorist was caught driving without a licence.

Police stopped the car in Seaford on Saturday April 30, after it was reported to have no insurance.

Following a conversation with the driver of the vehicle, officers discovered that the driver also did not have a license.

The car was seized by the police and the driver will be summoned to court.

A Lewes Police spokeswoman said: ‘Officers from your Neighborhood Policing Team spotted this car being driven in Seaford.

“It turned out there was no insurance, so we stopped him to have a chat with the driver. Not only did he have no insurance, but he also had no permit.

“The seized car and the driver will be summoned to court.”

The car was stopped as part of Operation Downsway.

After the vehicle stopped, the driver blew the drink-driving limit twice and tested positive for cocaine in road tests.

The driver was also carrying their young child at the time, police said.

“The driver has been arrested and the child has been secured,” Constable Gray said.
