Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo is a 426 hp concept with a bicycle engine Car News

Suzuki has launched a remarkable two-seater open-top concept, powered by an innovative hybrid powertrain, for the Gran Turismo 7 video game.

The Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo is a unique four-wheel drive super sports car, Suzuki says, which merges technology from its bike and car divisions.

It is powered by the same 187hp 1.3-liter four-cylinder engine found in the flagship Hayabusa sports bike.

It’s Suzuki’s first motorcycle-powered car since 2001’s uniquely styled Suzuki GSX-R/4 concept, although last year’s Suzuki Misano electric concept takes inspiration from two-wheelers.

Three electric motors boost overall power to 426 hp at 9700 rpm and peak torque is 450 lb-ft.

Motor power goes to the rear wheels, while two of the three electric motors power the front wheels.

Inside, a yoke-style steering wheel is flanked by two digital mirror screens, with the cockpit design focusing heavily on the driver.

At just 970kg, the concept has been developed incorporating ‘advanced weight reduction technology’.

“The Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo is a VGT that brings back the legendary GSX-R/4 with the latest technology as an all-wheel-drive supersport brimming with the brand’s sporting spirit,” Suzuki said.

“We hope you enjoy the world of pure sport as presented by Suzuki.”

The car is available now for Gran Turismo 7 players. Although it won’t lead to a production car, it does display themes that could be part of future Suzuki models.
