Boy left with cuts to head after ‘unprovoked’ knife attack Brighton News

A BOY was left with cuts to his head after an ‘unprovoked attack’ with a blade.

The incident happened around 11.15am on Thursday June 16 in Basin Road, Chichester.

The 13-year-old sat on a wall near Chichester Police Station before he was struck with a blade that was believed to be wrapped in duct tape.

The boy fled and went to school where his injuries were treated. His parents were called and the attack was later reported to the police.

A boy has been arrested and released on bail until Monday 11 July.

A Sussex Police spokesman said: ‘We are appealing for witnesses following an unprovoked attack in Chichester at around 11.15am on Thursday June 16 which left a 13-year-old boy with cuts in the head.

“The boy was sitting on a wall in Basin Road, near Chichester Police Station, when another boy hit him with a blade, believed to be wrapped in duct tape. He then fled west.

“The victim then went to school, where his injuries were treated, his parents were called and the attack was subsequently reported to the police.

“Anyone who may have seen the attack, or has any other information, is asked to contact the police online, or call 101, quoting serial 673 of 16/06.”
