There is heavy traffic in the city center due to the cycle route from London to Brighton.

The delays stretch along the south side of the A270 Grand Parade by the Level in Brighton.

The bike ride from London to Brighton is the first in two years due to the pandemic.

Roads have been intermittently closed in Merstham, Smallfield, Ardingly, Haywards Heath, Ditchling and Brighton.

Traffic is slowed at the Madeira Drive roundabout, where the bike ride ends. Queues are around 20 minutes at the moment.

Around 15,000 runners took part in this year’s event, organized by the British Heart Foundation, with other charities also invited to fundraise at the event.

The London to Brighton Bike Ride is Europe’s oldest charity bike ride, taking place every summer since 1975 after being organized by street artist Robert Stredder and his partner as a bike version of the London Motor Rally in Brighton.
