National Rail Inquiries website crashes on first day of rail strikes UK News

Passengers attempting to use the service to find out which trains are running during the rail strike receive a message stating: “500 Internal Server Error”.

This is likely due to the large number of users trying to access the service at the same time to see if there are any train routes they can take to get to their destination.

Around 80% of train services will be canceled today due to strikes, which will likely lead to an increase in users trying to access the website.

Many stations, including a usually busy Dover Priory station, have been completely deserted this morning as commuters seek alternative ways to get to work.

Transport Secretary Grant Shapps said industrial action on the railways ‘takes us back to the bad old days of union strikes’ as he pledged to ‘pursue these reforms anyway’.

He told Sky News: “I hear the unions saying it’s about pay, job cuts, in fact there’s a pay offer on the table and the job cuts are in the works. together volunteers.

“So it’s pointless, it takes us back to the bad old days of union strikes and they’ve now walked away from negotiations saying they’re going to strike and nullifying any chance of a resolution.

“We’re going to have to push these reforms anyway.”
