Electric cars and recharging anxiety Now the “full” reaches domicile- Corriere.it

It is called E-GAP and the first service in Europe to introduce a fast charge service on the market on request and in mobility through the use of its own vehicles. E-GAP vans are real fast mobile charging centers, capable of providing energy to recharge electric vehicles. After Milan, the pilot city of the entire European project, the service was also introduced in Rome. E-GAP will then make its debut in other metropolises, selected on the basis of the high growth rate of electric vehicles.

HOW E-GAP WORKS The E-GAP recharge service stands out for being fast (fast charge recharge) and on request and at home, that is wherever the vehicle to be recharged is located. To access the service, simply download the App for free on your smartphone or tablet and book your recharge. You can geolocate yourself or choose a future position in which to stop the vehicle, select how long you want to receive the recharge and follow it in real time. Should the vehicle be positioned in a place that is difficult to reach by E-GAP vehicles, the driver will be able to park nearby and use an emergency recharging system that can be carried by hand so as to be able to deliver enough energy to move the electric vehicle out of the obstruction area. to a convenient parking for the complete supply of the recharge. As for top-up costs, the price range ranges from € 15 by booking the service 24 hours in advance, to € 30 for a more urgent top-up.

THE MARKET E-GAP is the most immediate response to range anxiety, autonomy anxiety, which involves all owners and users of electric vehicles, both current and potential – says Francesco De Meo, marketing director of E-GAP -. It works for those without home recharging availability, for those who want to have greater autonomy or do not want to waste time searching for available recharging stations: it supplies energy to our vehicle while we are shopping, in the office or at dinner with friends. Electric vehicles are increasingly widespread in Italy: in the first month of 2021, the market share of these cars was 1.6%. BEVs go from 2,532 in the second month of 2020 to 3,442 in February 2021, thus growing by 36%. The constant increase in means of transport with low environmental impact forces us to take a look at the future, at the next needs of citizens and a concrete commitment to the sustainable development of our cities.
