Raging Bull, the dark and relentless tale of violent boxer Jake LaMotta, is widely regarded as one of the greatest films ever made, and certainly one of the best works of actor Robert De Niro and director Martin Scorsese. For the past year, British writer Jay Glennie has been working with De Niro and Scorsese to tell the story of the making of the film.
When you chat with Robert De Niro, you are told to call him Bob. To Jay Glennie, a writer from Essex who first tried his luck by emailing the star’s reps in late 2016, it initially seemed odd.
