Bedford reception agency shares handmade blankets with children in care Bedford News

Hospitality agency Fosterplus has partnered with volunteer organization Project Linus to share colorful, handmade quilts and blankets with cared for children in Bedford.

The project, first established in the United States, involves a network of volunteers who handcraft blankets and quilts that are then given as gifts to sick, vulnerable or traumatized children.

Angela Turland, Registered Manager for Fosterplus, said: “This is a really wonderful initiative to participate in. These blankets are a simple yet effective way to bring a smile or even a little cozy feeling to children who have been through difficult times.

“The blankets are given as part of a welcome pack when the children are placed at Fosterplus, but we also provide them to the children when they are not feeling well or even as a gift when they leave so they can keep them as a precious childhood memory. ”
