Firefighters tackle the blaze at Hill Top, East Finchley UK News

About 60 firefighters were called to a fire in East Finchley this morning affecting two semi-detached properties.

The roofs of both Hill Top houses were well lit when the London fire department arrived at 3 a.m.

Station Commander Sacha Clement, who was at the scene, said: “The firefighters were faced with a well-developed blaze when they arrived.

“One of our new 32-meter turntable ladders was on site and was used to fight the fire from height.”

The road was closed for several hours as firefighters dampened the properties.

The Brigade’s 999 control officers responded to seven fire calls.

He was called at 3:15 a.m. and the fire was under control at 5:15 a.m.

Eight fire engines and about 60 firefighters from Finchley, Hendon, Hornsey, West Hampstead and surrounding fire stations were on the scene.

The investigation seeks the causes of the fire.
