Toyota has launched an innovative vehicle warranty program that the Japanese firm says will provide new and used vehicle customers with free coverage for up to 10 years.
The Relax Warranty provides Toyota and Lexus owners with 12 month or 10,000 mile coverage for their vehicle each time it is serviced at an official Toyota dealership. Renewable coverage is available for any vehicle that is up to 10 years old or has covered up to 100,000 miles, exceeding the duration of any other manufacturer’s warranty system.
The program is open to new and existing vehicles and there is no additional cost to customers. Toyota hopes this will lead to increased customer loyalty for the company.
“This is a game-changing proposition that redefines the manufacturer’s warranty, giving our customers the assurance and the value of coverage for up to a decade of driving,” said Director of Services Toyota customer Rob Giles.
All Toyota models are eligible for the new warranty, including passenger cars, light commercial vans, pickup trucks and hydrogen fuel cell models.
A vehicle condition check is included in the warranty program, covering both mechanical and electronic parts. Wear items, bodywork, paint, interior components and maintenance parts are not included, such as the brand’s one-year manufacturer’s warranty.
All Toyota vehicles sold on or after June 1 will be sold with a three-year or 60,000 mile manufacturer’s warranty as standard, which will trigger the Toyota Relax warranty once their vehicle has been overhauled.
Customers will be able to extend the Relax warranty for an additional 12 months or 10,000 miles each year, until the 10-year or 100,000 mile limit is reached.
