Traffic restrictions in Brent Cross due to the past 17 weeks UK News

Motorists in the Brent Cross area are facing disruption that will last until October due to a package of road works scheduled to begin later this month.

A notice from the London Borough of Barnet in this week’s edition of Barnet borough hours outlines plans to implement the traffic restriction program, including the closure of Tilling Road, for approximately 17 weeks.

However, the measures, which are intended to facilitate new surface water and wastewater drainage works as part of the Brent Cross regeneration, will be phased in.

The measures concern:

Temporary closure of Tilling Road between its junction with the A406 North Circular Road and Brent Terrace.

Temporary ban for vehicles to enter Tilling Road from the North Circular Road.

Temporary prohibition for vehicles to turn right onto Tilling Road from Brent Terrace.

The works will begin on Tuesday, June 22 at 8 a.m. but will take place in the following order:

The closure of Tilling Road will be in place from June 22 to Monday June 29 and from Friday July 2 to Monday July 5 to Thursday July 8.

No entry from the North Circular Road will be in place from Friday July 9 to Wednesday October 6.

The prohibited right turn will be in place from Monday July 5 to Thursday July 8.

Meanwhile, other advisories describe further road closures in and Barnet that are expected to start from next week.

A five-day shutdown outside an address in Selborne Gardens is due to take effect at 8 a.m. Monday to allow for the installation of a new water connection.

The road will be closed outside of number 24 and the alternate route will pass through Watford Way, Greyhound Hill, Church End, The Burroughs, Watford Way and Colindeep Lane, and Colindeep Lane and Watford Way.

Another five-day closure is expected to start at the same time Monday at Creswick Walk for the same purpose.

However, this will only apply from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

Westside is expected to be closed at its junction with Great North Way for three days starting at 8 a.m. on Friday June 18 to allow repair of a leaking valve.

The detour will be via Great North Way, Watford Way and Westside.

Church Way, outside of numbers 32 to 40, is expected to be closed to vehicles for five days from 9 a.m. on Monday, June 21 for a new water connection.

The detour will be via Church Way, Church Crescent and St James Avenue.

Another five-day closure from the same date is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. at Hill Close.

Once again, this is to allow the installation of a new water connection, but the road will only be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day.

A four-day shutdown of a section of Hayes Crescent is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, June 22 for water hookup work.

The road will be closed at its junction with Finchley Road, and the alternate route will pass through Hayes Crescent, Bridge Lane, Finchley Road and vice versa.
