The 18-month-old girl was discovered in the pond of a house in Falkirk, Scotland, last night. She was rushed to hospital under police escort, but has since died of her injuries.

A neighbor, who did not want to be named, told Daily Record: “I was cutting the grass and all I heard was screaming.

“I could tell by the screams that there was something serious, it was horrible, I can still hear it in my head.

“A few minutes later, I heard sirens, then lots of police came with an ambulance – they all ran to the back of the house.

“I couldn’t really see what was going on, but the cops were standing by the back door and looking around the house.

“The paramedics transported the child in the ambulance and he flew down the street behind a police car.”

A Scottish Police spokesperson said: ‘Emergency services arrived at Dollar Avenue in Falkirk at 6:10 pm on Thursday 10 June, after an 18 month old child fell into a pond.

“The child was taken to Forth Valley Royal Hospital for treatment, where she died shortly thereafter. Investigations into the incident are ongoing.”

Three police cars, a police van and an ambulance were seen outside the property on Thursday evening.

This happened in the Bainsford area of ​​the city, about 20 miles north-east of Glasgow.

The investigation is continuing.
