Estate agents Martyn Gerrard are new food bank deposits in north London UK News

A real estate agent has partnered with a charitable food bank to help provide better service to those in need.

Estate agents Martyn Gerrard, who have served the North London community for 57 years, have partnered with Food Bank Aid.

Each of Martyn Gerrard’s 12 branches will now become a drop-off point for donations to be distributed to 18 food banks in North London.

Anyone wishing to donate is encouraged to bring whatever they can handle, although the most in demand right now are canned goods, long-lasting fruits and vegetables, rice, noodles, tea, coffee, oils. cooking and toiletries, among others.

To donate, simply go to your local Martyn Gerrard office and speak to the on-site team who will direct you to their designated drop box. Managing Director Simon Gerrard, who raised over £ 40,000 for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice last year with a marathon walk, said: “I have supported the Hornsey Food Bank throughout the lockdown and I am absolutely delighted to open our local branches to support our larger community and become a hub for the vital service that Food Bank Aid undertakes in our regions.

“After such a difficult year for so many people, they are providing an incredible lifeline to the areas Martyn Gerrard serves. They are in desperate need of donations and we would like to encourage all of the Martyn Gerrard real estate community to come and give as much or as little as they can.

“Especially in these times, I think it’s extremely important for all businesses to look to their communities and see what can be done to provide support to those who need it. As agents. family-owned properties that have been integrated into the North London community for over 50 years, we see first-hand how many organizations like Food Bank Aid provide to those in need of their help. ”

Food Bank Aid was created in April 2020 to support food banks in North London whose demand has increased tenfold due to the Covid crisis. The association makes more than 35 tailor-made deliveries per week and, together, the food banks supported by Food Bank Aid help approximately 12,000 people in need per week.
