Somerset coronavirus cases rise by 75 as two areas show high numbers Bath City News

There were 75 more coronavirus cases recorded in Somerset in today’s figures (Tuesday).

The latest update from Public Health England shows that the number of new cases in Somerset has remained high, but is down from the 94 cases recorded yesterday.

That brings the total number of cases in the county to 40,106 cases since the start of the pandemic.

More than half of the new cases were found in two regions, Bath and North East Somerset (which recorded 22 new cases) and North Somerset (which found 20 cases).

Mendip recorded the fewest number of new cases, with only four positive tests returned.

The number of deaths within 28 days of a positive test result in each area since the start of the pandemic is recorded below, with new deaths and deaths removed from the total as a result of past data revisions, in parentheses.

The government said as of 9 a.m. on Tuesday there had been an additional 11,625 laboratory-confirmed cases of Covid-19 in the UK.

The government also said another 27 people died within 28 days of testing positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday, bringing the UK total to 128,008.

Separate figures released by the Office for National Statistics show that there have been 153,000 registered deaths in the UK where Covid-19 was mentioned on the death certificate.

Meanwhile, daily Covid-19 vaccination figures for Monday will not be provided until Wednesday, NHS England said after a system crash that forced medics to use pen and paper to record people’s beatings .

Daily figures are usually provided the next day, but on Tuesday an update on the NHS England website said: ‘Following the computer issue that was reported to the NHS yesterday (June 21), the daily statistics for Covid-19 will be updated tomorrow, while the vaccinations recorded yesterday are updated in the digital system. The problem is now resolved and there has been no impact on the current vaccinations. “
