Ed Sheeran praises Brighton rapper Tik Tok ArrDee on Capital Brighton News

SUPERSTAR Ed Sheeran says he’s a huge fan of the Brighton rapper and Tik Tok sensation ArrDee.

The singer-songwriter praised social media star ArrDee, 18, when she appeared on Capital Extra radio station to promote her new single.

Speaking to the show’s hosts, Ed said, “I love the way he’s 18 and breaking it.

“I was 20 when I got my first top ten, but even then I think if you had it at 18, you’re like living, living, living life.”

Ed, 30, went on to perform an acoustic cover of ArrDee’s song from Brighton, Oliver Twist – which is currently number six on the UK official singles chart.

ArrDee, real name Riley Davies, started making a name for herself in the rap and grime music scene earlier this year.

Music magazine Clash said ArrDee “is taking the UK rap scene by storm” and described him as one to watch.

He wrote: “The 18-year-old proudly waves the Brighton flag, winning over just about everyone with his geezer raps and daring puns.”

ArrDee released her freestyle track Cheeky Bars in January, and the clip has now racked up over nine million views on YouTube.

The rapper became an internet sensation when his verse on the chart-topping remix of Tion Wayne and Russ Million’s song Body became popular on the video-sharing platform TikTok.

Body became the first piece of drill, a sub-genre of hip-hop, to reach No. 1 in the UK.

In March, ArrDee released 6 a.m. in Brighton, a love letter to the city which was filmed in locations along the Brighton and Hove seafront.

The track includes lyrics including “I f ****** love my city” and “I’m just a seaside boy”.

In the video, which now has more than six million views on YouTube, the teenager raps outside Shelter Hall, Brighton Music Hall and poses outside the West Pier.

Adree says her musical influences include Eminem, N-Duz star Dappy and American rapper Travis Scott.
