A PETITION calling for the construction of a statue of England manager Gareth Southgate in Crawley is approaching 2,000 signatures.
As of 9 a.m. today, just over 1,100 people had added their names to the growing list of fans who support the idea of a permanent monument to the England boss.
The petition was started by the Crawley Spotted Facebook group more than three years ago, but it started to circulate again after the Three Lions dominated their group and advanced to the knockout stages of Euro 2020.

The proposed locations for the statue include the Broadfield Stadium Roundabout, High Street, Crawley and Queen’s Square.
