A five-year-old child suffered a broken collarbone after being struck by a fall from a fire door at school.
The child was left lying injured for about 90 minutes after a fire door reportedly fell on her at Stag Lane Elementary School near Burnt Oak.
The incident happened around 2:30 p.m. on Monday, June 28, but despite an immediate call for an ambulance, it took an hour and a half for a paramedic to arrive.
During this time, the young girl was left in pain on the floor, cared for by the teaching staff.
The girl’s uncle, Cristian Silaghi, said: “The mother is heartbroken and she cannot sleep. (My niece) is recovering but she has a broken collarbone. She was lying on the floor the whole time. .
“The school did not say how it happened, just that they are investigating. We have pictures of the broken hinges. We want to know how and why this happened. The school has to prove that it is. safe.”

The girl’s distressed family claim the door that fell was in disrepair and they also asked why it took so long for an ambulance to arrive.
When a coworker of the girl’s father arrived at the school and inspected the door hinges, he said it looked like what had happened “a long time ago.”
The red door was part of a double door that opened onto the school playground.
Harrow’s council confirmed that an investigation had been opened into how and why the door had come down.

Stag Lane Primary School led the Time to Harrow’s advice when approached about the incident.
A spokesperson for the council said: “This was a distressing incident and our hearts are with the injured party, who we believe will recover quickly.
“An investigation is underway to discover the cause and our security protocols are subject to regular review. We await the conclusions of this investigation with interest and will implement any necessary recommendations.
“An ambulance was called immediately after the alarm went off and a number of subsequent calls were made to emergency services to find out where it was.
“We cannot comment further until the investigation is complete.”

The London Ambulance Service (LAS) confirmed that it received its first call at the Collier Drive school at 2:31 p.m. Monday, and received another call at 2:51 p.m.
Paramedics finally arrived at the school at 4:03 p.m. and the girl was treated and taken to hospital.
A spokesperson for LAS said: “We are very sorry for the delay in reaching this patient and any distress this may have caused. Our department is very busy at the moment, and on June 28 we received over 6 500 calls to our 999-control rooms, compared to a typical “busy” day of around 5,500 calls.
“We aim to reach all of our patients as quickly as possible, but we need to prioritize those who are most seriously ill and injured, such as those who have stopped breathing or are suffering from cardiac arrest. All callers receive clear advice on calling 999. again if the patient’s condition changes.
