BURGER fans in our city are spoiled for choice today (August 26) for National Burger Day, with Brighton and Hove offering a myriad of different options.

From small street vendors and upscale offerings to a variety of different vegan alternatives, Burger lovers in Brighton are fully catered for.

The Argus has compiled a list of some of the city’s best burger restaurants – picked by the residents themselves via Instagram, Twitter and Facebook.

Grubbs

Although only one branch remains in the city, longtime Brighton chain Grubbs still has a cult following in the city, with passionate fans of their burgers and sides.

Opened over 40 years ago, the restaurant once offered a range of over 15 different burgers and still attracts many happy customers to its original store on Western Road.

Tucked away in North Road, its lime green exterior is hard to miss and the food it produces is exceptional.

The take out unfortunately doesn’t make a side dish, but the owner claims the burgers are stand-alone.

Based across town and in Sussex, Uncle Sam’s has been offering a range of classic burgers for almost half a decade.

From its chili burger and blue cheese burger to its Hawaiian pineapple burger, Uncle Sam’s has the range to suit all tastes.

Really happy chicken

Brighton has become a hub for vegetarian and vegan outlets in recent years, with Really Happy Chicken taking the city by storm.

Since its inception less than a year ago, their line of vegan burgers and sides has been ranked as one of the UK’s best burger restaurants.
