For lovers of the rarest and most desirable cars and motorcycles in the world, there are two words that always assure something wonderful about the first week of September: Salon Privé. And this year’s event promises to be even better as it will host live rallies involving many iconic cars from the sport’s Groups A and B.
When and where is the 2021 Salon Privé held?
This year, the five-day event, held on the Sacred South Lawn of Blenheim Palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and ancestral home of Winston Churchill, takes place from Wednesday September 1 through Sunday September 5.
In many ways, for car enthusiasts, this is the ultimate late summer party. This year, organizers promise that more than 100 of the world’s rarest cars and motorcycles will be on display.
How much do Salon Privé tickets cost?
It depends on the day you participate.
Tickets for the Exclusive Concours of Elegance and Contests as well as Ladie’s Day cost £ 325 per person, so not for the causal participant.
Sunday’s classic and supercar show costs £ 45 per person (£ 21 for children aged five to 16).
What is happening at the Salon Privé?

But for the paying public, perhaps Super Sunday’s biggest draw will be the Grand Final which will include an exhibit recognizing Colin McRae who won his World Rally Championship 25 years ago last year. Due to Covid, no 2020 celebrations have been possible, but Salon Prive organizers are delighted to display a selection of its cars on the Croquet lawn at Blenheim Palace to mark the occasion.
Note, of course, that until the end of the 1990s, Blenheim Palace regularly hosted a stage of the RAC Rally. Those sights and sounds should return thanks to a magnificent collection of machines from Groups A, B and WRC that will tackle a course from the North Gates to the Great Vanbrugh Bridge.
On Sunday there will also be an organized exhibition of Richard Burn’s rally cars celebrating the 20th anniversary of the late Englishman’s WRC triumph which, co-piloted by Robert Reid, he won in spectacular fashion in a final showdown.
And for the first time, the event will also host the Salon Privé TIME; limited to just 10 brands famous for their luxury watches, including IWC, Montblanc, Panerai and Piaget. Located in the main emporium, guests will have the opportunity to browse, try on and, if they can afford it, purchase all of the magnificent pieces on display.
What is the program of the Salon Privé 2021?
The opening Wednesday is the Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance, Thursday being reserved for the coveted Salon Privé Concours d’Elégance Awards. Friday is the Salon Privé Ladies’ Day presented by Boodles.
Supercar Saturday sees premium car clubs invited to take center stage on the South Lawn at the UK’s largest club-only event, showcasing over 1,000 supercars. However, it is sold out: only Club members can attend.
Sunday, therefore, remains the grand finale of the Salon Privé Week, the Salon Privé Classic & Supercar. And on top of all the rally action, and the South Lawn which continues to display many of the best super and hyper cars around, the North Lawn promises to come to life with exhibits from the most super and performance clubs. amazing and eclectic UK, special model birthdays, food concessions, bars and shows.
