Tesco has issued a one-week warning to clubcard members.
Britain’s largest grocer is urging some of its Clubcard members to act quickly as vouchers that expire in February only have a week’s shelf life.
Earlier this year, Clubcard users were able to extend their vouchers for an additional six months from February to August due to the pandemic.
Now, thousands of people are being urged to spend their coupons in the week leading up to the August 31 deadline.
This is because coupons only have a two-year expiration period for buyers to save.
What is the Tesco club card?
The supermarket loyalty program was first launched in 1995 and attracted nearly five million customers in the first year.
In 2017, the card switched to contactless remotes and convenient remotes were introduced – now with over 19 million users in the UK saving their money.
The Clubcard program is the supermarket’s loyalty card – now also in app form – that allows shoppers to earn points for spending in stores.
These are then transferred into vouchers, depending on the number of points accumulated by supermarket customers.
How does the Tesco club card work?
Customers need a minimum of 150 points to qualify for a single £ 1.50 voucher to spend at Tesco.
Or, points can be saved and redeemed for rewards at restaurants, attractions, and shops.

In some cases, the number of points accumulated can be tripled in monetary value – with 500 points worth £ 15.
Examples of places where this is possible include chain restaurants such as Bella Italia, Cafe Rouge, Pizza Express, Prezzo, and Zizzi.
Via the app there is an option to find out how many points you can redeem or redeem for vouchers – which are usually processed within 24 hours.
Or you can print the vouchers or use them online immediately.
If you’re about to expire, but don’t want to spend them right away, there is a trick to extending them.
Convert your coupons into coupons faster and they will last 21 months from the date your coupons were converted.
That means you could use them for an additional 21 months beyond the usual two-year expiration date.
