Thanks to a flexible platform borrowed from the parent company Renault (which uses it for the Clio and Captur), the Jogger will offer three engines.
The first is a 1.0-liter triple turbo that produces 108 hp and up to 90% of its maximum 148 lb-ft from 1,700 rpm. This will also fall into the Renault Mégane in time and will likely make up the majority of Jogger’s sales.
A 99hp Joger LPG will also be offered, using the same Bi-Fuel engine as that of the Sandero. Neither 0-62 mph times nor fuel economy figures have yet been released.
The hybrid, scheduled for 2023, combines a 1.6-liter petrol engine, two electric motors (one an electric motor and the other a heavy-duty alternator) and a multi-mode automatic gearbox, plus a 1.2 kWh battery to allow only electric operation over short distances.
There are no plans for a plug-in hybrid at this point, although the flexibility of the platform means that one could be offered in the future. According to David Durrand, Dacia Design Director: “We can take this existing technology and adapt it very quickly because the platform is the same. It would take us less than a year to change it.
The Jogger will arrive in the UK in 2022, with exact UK market pricing and specifications to be announced later this year. If the price here matches the approximate starting price in Europe of € 15,000 (£ 12,900), it will be the cheapest seven seats on sale.

What’s your favorite part of the Jogger?“The way we matched the front of the Sandero with the rear cabin of the Jogger. The Jogger is a bit wider and taller which was a challenge on the design side as we had to continue the lines towards the rear We had this idea of the two boxes and to create this step between the front door and the second part of the car.
“I also like the finish of the taillights, where we wanted to avoid a utility vehicle while keeping the wide opening. If you push everything to make room inside, the risk could be of having a lousy car on the outside. We have tried to make it strong but not utilitarian.
