Bridgerton filming “stopped indefinitely due to coronavirus” Bath City News

Filming on the hit Netflix series Bridgerton has been halted indefinitely due to the coronavirus, reports suggest.

It comes after a third outbreak of covid was reported among the cast and crew, as reported by The Sun.

Work on the second season began in the spring, but had to be halted twice in July – and now has had to stop again.

Many locations across Bath were used for the show’s first season such as The Guildhall, The Assembly Rooms, Beauford Square, Trim Street, Bath Street and the Royal Crescent.

And Bridgerton is reportedly back and filming the second season in Bath in May.

The Holburne Museum, which also serves as Lady Danbury’s home, was inundated with film crews in mid-May.

Spencer Hancock, who works for the Holburne Museum, has previously spoken about what it was like to see the cast and crew film at the Bath monument for the first season, saying Regé-Jean Page “liked to stay in character between the plugs”.

According to Tom Crudgington, a boxing trainer from Bath, the star was “charming” because he had boxing lessons in the city before the shoot.

Season two will not feature the actor, however, as it will focus on Anthony Bridgerton, played by Jonathan Bailey, on his quest to find a wife, as seen in Julia Quinn’s second novel The Viscount Who Me liked.

In January, Shondaland confirmed that there would be a season two, three and four following the phenomenal success of the first season which focused on Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor) and The Duke of Hastings (Regé-Jean Page).

During the time of filming the first season in 2019, Bath Live regularly covered the film crews, but no one knew how global the series would become.

It is expected that there will be some sort of tourism boom as fans tour the city’s many filming locations.

Already several walking tours of Bridgerton filming locations have sprung up across town, providing fans with a ‘behind the scenes’ experience.
