Call after Mercedes crashed into cars parked on the A272 Brighton News

POLICE ask for information after a Mercedes driver crashed into two parked vehicles before fleeing.

The motorist collided with the vehicles on the A272 Station Road in Cowfold.

The silver Mercedes was found abandoned near a farm shortly after the incident on Sunday, December 5.

Police are keen to speak to a woman behind the wheel of a small car that allegedly picked up the Mercedes driver.

PC Steve Lambeth, of the Sussex Police Roads Unit, said: ‘I want to track down the driver of a small silver vehicle who allegedly picked up the driver of the Mercedes and took him away.

“We don’t think the two knew each other and she could be a useful witness to help us identify the driver.”

The incident happened around 8:45 p.m. on Sunday, December 8.

Anyone with information is asked to send an email to collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk, citing series 1134 of 5/12.
