Roadworks and road closures are in place in Somerset this week. Although essential, they can be incredibly frustrating, especially if you need to get to a very important place.

Some roads may have temporary traffic lights while others may be completely closed. This means you may need to plan ahead and possibly find alternate routes.

We’ve put together a list of all the major roadworks taking place in every region of the county this week, and beyond, so you know what to expect.

Taunton

Priory Bridge Road – Traffic control (two-way lights) until April 1

Station Road – Traffic control (traffic lights) until March 31

Derwent Grove – Road closed until April 11

Silver Street – Traffic control (traffic lights) until March 31

Galmington Lane – Road closed until March 29

Wild Oak Lane – road closed until April 1

Bath

Chemin Nord – Traffic control (stop/go signs) from March 29 to March 31

Corn Street – Traffic control (two-way lights) on April 3

Lower Bristol Road – Traffic control (bidirectional lights) on April 3

Bathwick Street – Traffic control (stop/go signs) from March 29 to March 31

The Paragon – Traffic control (two-way lights) from April 6 to April 8

Charlcombe Lane – Road closed until March 31

Lansdown Road – Traffic control (two-way lights) from April 3 to April 5

Weston-super-Mare

Dumfries Place – Road closed 5 April – 7 April

Milton Road – Traffic control (traffic lights) until May 27

Locking Moor Road – Traffic control (traffic lights) from April 4 to April 8

Knightcott Road – Traffic control (multi-directional lights) from March 30 to April 1

Queensway – Traffic control (traffic lights) until April 22

Bridgewater

Quantock Road – Traffic control (two-way lights) until April 7

Chilton Street – Traffic control (bidirectional lights) until April 1

Mount Street – Traffic control (traffic lights) until March 29

Rue Monmouth – Lane closed from March 28 to March 29

King George Avenue – Wessex Water will carry out service repair work from March 30 to April 1
