Brighton man charged after woman was raped and assaulted in Barnsley Brighton News

A MAN has been charged after a woman was raped and assaulted in broad daylight.

Brandon Woolven of Brighton has been charged with rape, three counts of sexual assault and two counts of assault causing actual bodily harm following the incident.

The 22-year-old, of no fixed address, was due to appear at Sheffield Magistrates’ Court today.

Police were called at around 10am on Thursday to a reported rape in Barnsley.

A woman in her 20s was walking in a park near Pontefract Road when she was dragged down a narrow path and assaulted near the Beevor Street industrial estate.

Specially trained officers support the woman.

Anyone with information or images that could help the police in their search is asked to contact 101 quoting incident number 279 of April 14.
