Public holiday: Images show crowds enjoying the sunshine in Worthing Brighton News

THESE images show hundreds of people enjoying the holiday sun.

People from all over Sussex are making the most of the bank holiday by taking advantage of the beautiful weather.

Photos taken on Worthing beach show crowds of people walking along the seafront as temperatures soar.

Many took the opportunity to exercise while others basked in the sun on the beach – with temperatures reaching 17C.

Met Office forecasters have said the warm weather Sussex enjoyed yesterday is expected to continue.

The mercury hit 23.4C (74.1F) in St James’s Park, central London, on Friday afternoon, making it hotter than California, with the rest of the warm weather concentrated in the southeast.

Met Office forecaster Simon Partridge said: ‘It’s a bit warmer today than yesterday.

“We are expecting the weather to be warmer than Greece. Greece looks like it will reach 18C or 19C while Turkey will reach 21C on Saturday, so we will be warmer than Greece, Turkey and southern Italy. Italy.

“Friday and Saturday are the hottest days of the weekend, Sunday should be cooler.”

Easter Sunday is expected to remain dry with temperatures falling to 19°C (66.2°F) and lower in England and Wales.
